My daughter, who is a travel nurse, was coming to Macon to meet family to go out of town. She called Dr Cown's office the day before she got to Macon stating she had a UTI and could something be called in? She was told to be at the office at 8 the next morning on her way out of town and give them a urine sample, and they would test it and call her a prescription in to a pharmacy where she was going. She never heard from them and called them at 5 minutes to 5 to find out they were already closed, were closed on Friday and never called her about her sample or a prescription. She called the answering service, who wouldn't even talk to her because it wasn't an emergency. She paid the $35 co-pay even though she never saw the doctor, a nurse practitioner or a tech. We ended up having to take her to an urgent care out of town and paid another $35 because she was in pain. My girls have been going to Dr Cown's for years and the front desk staff have always been unfriendly, but we continued to go because we only dealt with Margie, a Nurse Practitioner there who is Awesome!! She is the only reason I will give this practice a 2 but this was the last straw, and my daughter will be transferring to another doctor. I also will be calling my insurance company to let them know of this situation and.to not pay the claim since we are having to pay an out of town urgent care!! They have already taken her $35 copay for doing nothing so I think that is plenty for this poor service!!
