I have visited this facility a few times with my one year old. Her regular pediatrician sends me here if it's after hours. Friday 5/26 was by far my worst experience. I arrived just after 5pm. I was not greeted by the male receptionist. As he checked me in without so much as glancing up...I must have disturbed his text message since noone else was in the lobby...he informed me my copay was 115.42. I explained that this has never happened and asked if he could contact Cigna my insurance carrier as I have an HSA reimbursement account. I also asked if he could bill me later. He handed me a print out with what I needed to meet my deductible and said that he does not make those calls. He also informed me that Kennestone was down the street and if I did not have the money to pay my deductible or couldnt afford to...since thier policy changed in January...that I could take my 1 yr old with a 103 temp. to the emergency room at Kennestone. I was stunned. I needed help so I whipped out my emergency CC and paid them the 115.42. He handed me a receipt without so much as a thank you. I was seen immediately. Dr. Davidson who I've seen before informed me my daughter had strep. She said she may also have HFAM disease. I appreciated her quick attention however she offered to follow up with me the next day since I informed her of the mysterious copay and I could not afford a return visit. That was thoughtful however I NEVER recieved a call. I'm sure she was just too busy. I have been battling with Wellstar billing since then for a reimbursement check. I have called them 3 times. Each 30 minute conversation more useless than the last. Cigna informed me that my HSA was already deducted from and Wellstar was paid. If I had an extra 115.42 lying around I wouldn't be writing this. I choose Wellstar. For my OB, my kids doctor and it used to be where I would take her after hours. I would have been better going to the CVS minute clinic.NEVER again. You guys got your money twice and all I got was terrible customer service and a headache. Do yourself a favor and take your child to a pediatric office that cares.
I took my 8 month old daughter here last night and what an wonderful place! The staff was amazing from the lady that checked my in to the nurses. Everyone was super nice and pleasant. I could tell they loved what they do! The facility was so clean and so nice inside. The wait was very short as well. GREAT place to take your kids after hours for pediatric care!
