Drove my cancer-survivor-transgender daughter from Knoxville to Atlanta. 'Best decision ever! Quirky events led us to Curtis. We just believe that it was "a God thing". First, I received a phone call from a Nashville-based company regarding a hair transplant. I'm guessing it was prompted by my doing so many internet searches. Unfortunately, intense radiation to treat brain cancer had destroyed so many follicles that a transplant wasn't an option for my girl! The nice gentleman on the other end of my phone told me "If you want the best service and the best products in the Southeast, go to Atlanta and see Curtis at Jentis Studios.". I was interested. I asked lots of questions. He told me, "Curtis is talented, and he is a good man. No pressure. No contracts. You will love him and his staff.. They will do you right and there will be no pressure at all.". Since we already had an appointment at the downtown Knoxville Hair Club and it was local, we thought... "We'll go and hear what they offer.". The Hair Club called us the day before to confirm Ellie's appointment. We went. Paid to park. Traveled up elevator to a locked door with a bunch of incoming packages in front of it! No one was there. Frustrated, we called the 1-800 number. They said that there had been a problem with the water and so they closed that day... They offered to reschedule our appointment and give us a $500 credit on products. Uggh! It just didn't feel right!
'Called Jentis. 'Spoke to Curtis. He told us to come on down and he'd work Ellie in. We arrived to find the kindest, most compassionate and respectful team of people that you would ever want to meet! We loved everyone there! Rosie - so sweet. Daphne - She is incredible, and you just immediately feel that you have a friend in her! Curtis... 'everything the man from Nashville told me that we could expect! Ellie loved him immediately. When Daphne put the hair on E's head she began cutting/styling it and Ellie started crying! Ellie said, "You don't have to do anything more! I love it! I can't believe it! I am so happy that you could do this for me!". Daphne intended to make it look better but Ellie was crying and hugging - and she insisted that she loved it as it was! Over two months later she still feels the same way!
Ellie had hair for Thanksgiving 2017! It looks great! No one knows that it's not growing from her scalp unless we tell them. She loves it! We really do feel that we are now part of the Jentis family.
While we were there at Jentis Studios we spoke to another long-time client. His hair looked great! He told us that he loved it and that he'd been very happy there for many years.
Ellie says, "Mom, hair is so important. It can destroy your confidence if you lose it. Curtis and Daphne gave me my confidence back! I love having my hair!".
She said these very words to me again today! It's now been over two months since the day we first made the drive from Knoxville to Jentis Studios in Atlanta.
YES! We would recommend Jentis Studios to a friend!
