Madison Crawford

I rarely ever go and put poor ratings online, but I have to share my experience so others will not go through the same. First of all, no matter what, paying $265 for a cut and color (before tip) is ridiculous in my opinion. I have never left a salon paying that much in my entire life, and I have lived all over Georgia and therefore had many stylists in the past. Paying that much for a level 1 stylist to do it is even worse. But, read below for what really tipped me over the edge. I called this salon in advance and asked how much a cut and color would be. The woman I spoke with told me I could pick between two stylists - one who would charge $125 for a color and $25 for a cut, totaling $150, or one who would charge $145 for a color and $35 for a cut, totaling $180. I specifically said to her, I will take the cheaper one because I am watching my expenses. I go to the salon, and don't get me wrong, my stylist was very friendly and I was pretty happy with the results overall as far as how my hair itself turned out. However, while getting my hair done, my stylist tacked on a couple extra things without letting me know. She did ask me about one and I told her I did not have time for it, and she did not add that to my bill - that was fine. She recommended something, told me the cost, and I rejected it. However, she still did a couple other things without making me aware. Here is where it gets really bad. Not only was a total of $60 added due to those two extra things she did, but the cut itself cost $34 and the color cost $174 - $58 more than I was told previously. If I was going to spend that much, I would've chosen the more experienced stylist. I did not say anything at the time of check out because honestly, I was shocked, and too embarrassed to say I cannot afford that right now. My sister paid for my cut with the intention of me paying her back, and when I told her everything that happened, she was upset that I was taken advantage of, and decided to call the salon herself. They essentially told her that I was lying, that no haircuts go as low as $25 so I must have been lying, and that her stylists always make the extra cost clear to the client. The most she could do was refund $20.00. So, after being told it would cost $150 and scammed out of an extra $117 before tip, I get $20 back. What a deal! I am not putting all of the blame on the stylist, as this may have in part been a miscommunication issue when it comes to the receptionist I spoke with on the phone and the stylist herself. As I said before, she did do a good job. However, there are many experienced stylists who could do a great job as well at half the price. Mainly, the customer service is the worst I have ever experienced in a salon, and therefore I will not be going back. Please do not go here - if you are not satisfied or find yourself being charged way more than initially told, you will not receive any help or proper customer service. If they had handled the situation the right way, I would have come back and next time either chosen a different stylist, or made sure we were very clear of cost in advance. When I saw my hair, I was excited to have found a stylist I liked and planned to come back. After talking with a manager and having the situation handled in all the wrong ways, I will never go there again.
